With the tech era in full swing, people are more sedentary than they’ve ever been. Sitting is considered “the smoking of the 21st century” according to health experts, it leads to inflammation, obesity and illness.
Tribe, your body was designed to MOVE. Regular moderate exercise is the secret to feeling sexier, healthier, more energetic, and to having a better brain. And believe it or not, exercise doesn’t need to be a drag. In fact, ALL movement matters! You just need to figure out what you love to do. If your routine is getting boring, it might be time spice things up a bit.
In a study done by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health they measured the effects of post-menopausal woman exercising in different colored environments. The results of this study showed that working out in a green or blue colored environment similar to countryside and a coastal setting produced the most positive feelings towards exercise. In addition, the study suggested exercising outside in blue and green colored settings made them feel as if they were exercising for a shorter amount of time that was actually recorded. What does this all mean? Exercise where your eyes love to look and you’re likely to enjoy the process a lot more.
Winter weather may permit us from exercising outside but with spring around the corner, it’s a great time to take advantage of the beauty of the outdoors. Exercising with a friend will empower and energize you both.
