6 Fitness Tools You Must Have

Now is the perfect time to reinvigorate that Warrior physique! If some exercise is good, more is better, and a huge amount is best of all, right? Wrong!

Here’s the truth about exercise: It’s incredibly valuable for many reasons, but you don’t have to run marathons or become a world-class bodybuilder to benefit from exercise. Success comes from exercising smarter, not necessarily harder. The key is to train well without over-training. The most effective and healthiest form of exercise is shorter in duration and higher in intensity. Find what works best for you, but more doesn’t equal better!

The Omni Diet workout is the smartest way to exercise because it concentrates on highly effective moves that incorporate your entire body. I’m all about maximum benefits while being efficient with my time. Create a workout schedule you can stick with to help motivate you toward success.

Keeping my workout routine fresh is essential to my personal success, plus it’s super important for brain health. Below are 6 of my fall favorites—items I find myself constantly reaching for to help keep my fitness plateaus at bay. If you don’t already have these items at home or at the gym; I suggest you hit the store and make them your new best friend.

Push-up Pros

Are regular push-ups getting too easy? If so, get a pair of push-up pros. This exercise equipment will strengthen and tone chest, arms, back, shoulders, abs, and other muscles better than regular push-ups. The push-up pros will help you build an upper body that would make Wonder Woman jealous.

Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are a great tool for people with limited time, travel a lot, or do not enjoy training at the gym. As a busy mother and wife, I do not always have time to go to the gym because of my hectic schedule. Resistance bands come in handy so I can get in a quick workout.

Here are 3 exercises you can easily do with resistance bands:

  1. Squats
  2. Bent-over Rows
  3. Standing Overhead Press

Heart-rate Monitor and a Pedometer

A heart rate monitor is a convenient, reliable, personal indicator of the intensity of your exercise. This exercise tool will help you reach the optimal exercise intensity based on your fitness level.

So many people forget (or ignore) the benefits of walking. As a Brain Warrior, you should strive to be active, and the first step to being active is walking. A pedometer will help track how many steps you take. Aim to take at least 10,000 steps per day.

Ab Wheel

While eating the Brain Warrior’s Way, the ab wheel will help you lose stomach fat, while strengthening your core, activating all the muscles that will torch stomach fat.

Adjustable Dumbbells

If you prefer working out at home, then I strongly suggest purchasing a pair of adjustable dumbbells. Use these weights to help elevate your exercise routine wherever you work out.

Sports Bra (women only)

Having a quality sports bra is the most essential exercise item to have. So if you’ve been working out in the same sports bra since 2005, it is time to upgrade. Here are several benefits of buying an up-to-date sports bra:

  • Helps support your breasts during strenuous exercise
  • Minimizes breast movement during workout
  • Regulates sweat and temperature control
  • Newer sports bras are able to store things (e.g., car keys, mp3 player, etc.)
  • They’re more comfortable than regular bras (especially during exercise)

By using these 6 exercise items, in conjunction with a balanced 70/30 eating strategy rich in protein and plant foods, you will continue to thrive as a Brain Warrior!
